The drawing features a portrait of Paul Harris, along with some significant landmarks associated with him: the house in Racine where he was born; the Paul P. Harris clock and plaza in Racine, Wisconsin that honors his memory; the Rotary Four-Way Test and globe, signifying Rotary's worldwide presence; and the Rotary Heritage trail from Chicago, Illinois where the first meeting was held, to Racine, Wisconsin.
This is the first of a limited edition of 4,444 lithographed prints, each numbered and signed by the artist. You of course recognize the meaning behind the number of prints' Rotary's benchmark Four-Way Test.
George Pollard, the artist, is a long standing member of the Kenosha Rotary Club, and world-recognized portrait artist who has been commissioned to do the likenesses of sports figures from Mohamad Ali to Brett Farve, US Presidents, three Wisconsin Governors, Mother Theresa and Pope John Paul II, who awarded Mr. Pollard the prestigious Pontiff's Medal in recognition of his artistry. Proceeds from the sale of these prints will be used to maintain and add to the Paul Harris plaza in Racine, Wisconsin.
